Facebook and MySpace fight for Business to use their Platform

Now I’m not talking about ads.  I’m talking about a clean page which can be an extension of their brand in the social media arena.   On this new page you can find other extensions of their social media activities like twitter, flickr, and rss feeds.  Take a look at the great job AT&T has done with it.  TechCrunch is covering all the new features that will be launched in the next few weeks.  Facebook details:

Look for a much more streamlined look to Facebook Pages next week though, with a multitab interface very similar to what Facebook launched to users in 2008. The default view will show the Wall (which may include negative comments unless they are routinely deleted). All the custom apps will be pushed to a second Boxes tab. The Pages will also likely mirror the look of normal user profiles, with an image in the top left corner, etc.

MySpace’s piece in this.
Charlie Rose - Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson

Good luck to them.  I definitely think it’s a great idea.  Hopefully they maintain it.  With anything in social media, that’s half the battle.

A New Day … Take 2

Well I scrapped the video I put together the past couple of weeks.  It was hard to get the point across in just 2 minutes.  I decided to do something politically charged since all we’ve been seeing lately is political agendas and elections.  Hopefully it makes more sense then the last one I put together.

Faceless Portraits

In Media Concepts we’ve been exploring the history of Photography. To understand it better we’ve been exploring famous photographers, as well as more modern day photographers. To better understand any subject you really have to throw yourself into it. That’s what I did this past week. What kind of theme I was going to go with. After looking through hundreds of photos this past week I decided to go with a Childhood or Nostalgic theme. I promised my friends dinner if I could take some photos of them under different lightening angles. Happily they accepted and the following is what I came up with. Nothing fancy but now I appreciate the different lightening angles that come into play in photography.

This one had a nice drop effect for lighting.  Has a fast falloff with a bit of spatial orientation.  Shows the small amount of area they were in.

This has a fast falloff and in some of the previous frames I got a nice silhouette.

In this one I like how you can tell where the light is coming in from the side and then going dark after the object.  The Expanded Light is displayed by this.

This is an example of a bad photo but I just loved the lighting at the restaurant.

I want to get outdoor light in one photo so I took a shot outside my window for this.  Shows a great use of Spatial Orientation.

Lightening

This one shows the source of light being off to the side.  You can tell where I have the lights setup.

I live how there’s shadows around the objects with this.

Overall a great project, now I just need to work on my photo techniques.
