Mrs. Dewey pushes fun Searches

Who is Mrs. Dewey? Well she is the newest form of search, a spin off of the Dewey Decimal System. She even has a page on wikipedia and her own superstore. She’s there to provide eye candy while you search in an interactive site? I’m not really sure what MSN Live Search is trying to do with this campaign. At first I thought they were trying to pull in more of a male demographic with this, but all the guys I’ve talked to about this don’t really like it either. The navigation of the site and high bandwidth use are its downfalls. I’m not sure the attitude of Mrs. Dewey is that great either.
Maybe they’re just trying to remind people that MSN actually has a search engine tool. It’s fun at first glance but you have no real reason to keep returning to the site, let alone use it as your search engine tool. Seems like all the search engines are trying new search interfaces and functionality, just take a look at these sites by Ask and Google. I am excited to see where they take search in the next few years. I think we’re in store for some exciting features.

Listen to Podcasts on your Phone
Just another option if you don’t have the wonderful ipod or itunes. I was reading TechCrunch today and found a good service that allows you to listen to your favorite podcasts on your phone.

Web site Podlinez assigns a phone number to any podcast, meaning that you can listen to the latest episode of your favorite podcast any time you want; you just need to dial your podcast’s number.
Now the phone calls are not toll free, so you’ll want to keep an eye on the length of the podcasts you listen to with Podlinez. But just think, you don’t have to download anything to listen to your podcasts. If your favorite podcast doesn’t have a number, just enter the feed URL and it will give you one!

New Fashion site w/ beauty, commentary & celebrities!
I just received this:
A new fashion, beauty, celebrity site has just launched!
WhoWhatWearDaily: Launched by two former Elle editors, this new site delivers a daily dose of fashion and beauty photos and commentary taken from the world’s runways, tastemakers and celebrities. The site also offers up insider information on star sightings and tips from A-list stylists. Rather than make fun of helpless fashion victims (à la Go Fug Yourself), the contributors use their discerning eyes to focus mostly on the fashion “dos” rather than the “don’ts”.
