The Firefox Extensions that get me through my Day

It seems like there are new firefox extensions everyday, that’s why it will never replace IE for me. The add-ons make it essential to my work everyday. I thought I’d use my end of the month post to share my favorite.

1. IE View
Lets you load pages in IE with a single right-click, or mark certain sites to *always* load in IE. Useful for incompatible pages, or cross-browser…
I use this one to check my web pages in IE. I just need button for all the different browsers now.

2. FasterFox

Fasterfox pre-fetches links and blocks Flash plug-ins, and tells you how long pages are taking to load.

3. CoComment

Lets you see all of your online conversations in one place, which is obviously great for blogs.

4. Aging Tabs

The tabs you’ve looked at recently appear in bright colors, while those left for a while go dark.

5. Delicious Bookmarks

This is Yahoo’s plug-in that gives you a more useful Del.icio.us bookmarking system.

6. Fast Video Download

This lets you download embedded video from sites. It’s the fastest one I’ve found.

7. TorrentBar

Easy access to all the main torrent search sites including MiniNova, Pirate Bay, TorrentReactor, TorrentSpy, and a few others.

8. Download Statusbar

Instead of having a separate window for downloads, this puts them in a bar at the bottom of the browser window and hides when it’s not in use.
