Getting this started

Let me start off by saying that I’m a movabletype/typepad girl. This blog is wordpress powered so I’m learning as I go here. I really wanted to put this on wordpress because I wanted to be able to understand both software platforms. Why did I decide to start writing this? Several reasons actually. I have a blog that I write on like every two weeks on MySpace. I know, but I love MySpace! It’s really a personal blog for my friends and family. It doesn’t have the same functionality of typical blogs though. It lacks rss feeds, blogrolls, custom design, and just being involved in the greater blogosphere as a whole. I read a blog called disambiguity religiously and after this post, I decided that I was a sharing blogger. This is me:

Before blogging, they were bombarding friends and co-workers with ideas, references and opinions by all other means (particularly email - these guys are notorious for bulk emails).

I spend the first hour of my day doing this! I’m sure it’s annoying to my friends, family, and co-workers I just feel the need to share. I actually get notes from them when I don’t send anything asking if I’m feeling ok!

Hopefully this will be a good place for them to come to if they actually want to see what I find interesting enough to share.
